You should demand Creativity from your broker. Every year at this time we take a look at all the opportunities we had during the previous 12 months. I will admit that we (FSB) are not the most aggressive marketers in the insurance industry, but we do get asked to evaluate a few dozen clients every year. What sticks out the most is how infrequently business owners think outside the box. We are not saying that you need to do anything crazy, but why not at least discuss the various strategies available to your small, medium or large company? Why not look at an HRA option? An HSA option? A Partially Self-Funded option? Don’t just write those ideas off…you never know if they will work.
